Fat Fueled Recipe: Grain Free Granola

We've got a great snack recipe you can make in bulk and store for a while! It's our Fat Fueled Grain Free Granola, made with a mix of nuts, seeds and coconut and baked into crunchy bits.

Why no grains, you ask? Well, if you're like us, grains might give you some digestive problems and inflammation. This is because of the phytic acid that surrounds the outside of a grain to protect it, binds to essential minerals causing lack of absorption. The body has a difficult time digesting phytic acid as it's unable to produce the enzymes needed to properly break it down. This strains the gut and can lead to leaky gut syndrome.

Nuts have this protective lining as well, which is why to ensure optimal nutrient delivery, it's always best to soak your nuts before consumption. All you need to do is pour water over a bowl of nuts and soak 8-12 hours. Simply drain, rinse and dehydrate before eating!

Fat Fueled Recipe: Grain Free Granola


2 cups almonds, soaked and dried for better digestion

2 cups walnuts, soaked and dried for better digestion

1 cup shredded coconut

1 cup pumpkin seeds

1/2 cup shelled sunflower seeds

1/2 cup hemp seeds, chia seeds, or flax seeds

1/2 cup melted coconut oil

1/2 tbsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp cinnamon

1 tbsp ground ginger

2 tbsp maple syrup or honey

1 tsp sea salt



1. Pour seeds and nuts into a bowl or pulse in a food processor if you prefer smaller pieces, otherwise pour them  into a large bowl.

2. Stir in coconut oil, vanilla, spices and maple syrup until completely coated.

3. Spread granola onto a baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake 30 minutes at 300 degrees.

4. Allow to cool completely before breaking up into chunks. Store in an airtight container.


Enjoy on it's own, as a cereal or on top of yogurt and smoothies!
